DEALER NEWS
November 1, 2004 Steve Tolbert hopes to open the doors to his new Five Star Motors an Avanti, Studebaker and Crosslander dealership located just South of Frank Ancona Honda on the I-35 East outer road in Olathe Kansas. Arguably a boutique manufacturer, both Avanti and Studebaker are limited production custom vehicles assembled in Villa Rica, Georgia but with a storied historical past. The Cross Lander is a line of vehicles direct from ARO (Auto Romania) a 50-year old Eastern European company. EPA Certification has been obtained and the Crosslander 244X is rumored to have a starting MSRP below $20,000.

Directly South of Five Star Motors, Pete Franklin hopes to salvage the old salvage lot and turn it into a gleaming new Suzuki dealership. Picking up Suzuki from Sunflower Automotive, Pete Franklin intends to soon have three Suzuki dealerships open for business.

Both Shawnee Mission Ford and Superior Hummer are on track to have their renovations complete by November.

EVENTS
The weather couldn't have cooperated more for the Over the Road Gang in Ottawa Kansas as they hosted their 18th annual Ol' Marais River Run. Over 1,200 per 1972 Hot Rods, Customs and Classics rested in the ample shade of Riverside Park in Ottawa until it was time to strut their stuff. And strut they did as cars lined both sides of this classic Kansas main street while taking turns to cruise back and forth in both directions. This event is one of the best cruises in the country and will continue to grow.

The Ol' Marais River Run is a great warm up act for the Goodguys coming to the Kansas Speedway on
September 24,25, and 26th. Expect over 3,000 pre 1972 vehicles to populate this venue. Be sure to check out kcautosource.com for links and more information about Goodguys, and the Festival of Speed in October.

KCAUTOSOURCE
And here is a big thank you to the dealers and advertisers that make KCAUTOSOURCE.COM the single SOURCE for Auto Information in Kansas City. At first it was a place to archive my radio shows. Then as I started to write new car reviews for the Pitch and other publications, it became an archive where you can read over 100 of my latest automobile reviews. As I developed the only directory for all Kansas City New Car Dealer Web Sites, I knew I had to expand it to include a directory all automotive products and services.

I am now searching for writers, editors and contributors to add news, advice and content for the automotive community. If you have an interest in contributing content please drop me a line at stan@kcautosource.com. With your help this will continue to develop as this source for automobile information in Kansas City.

CARTUNZ.TV
If you haven't tuned into PAX 50 TV on Friday night at 10:30PM you have missed Kansas City's only broadcast automobile show. CARTUNZ is now the highest rated show on PAX 50. Recently we had almost 1/3 of the audience that Jay Leno had in the same time slot. I always feature a new car review along with others that feature the latest for the car enthusiast.

WHAT IS STAN DRIVING THIS WEEK
My review of the 2004 Honda Civic EX Coupe has been e-mailed to the papers and will be published locally in the Pitch on Thursday. Today I am in withdrawal as they came and took away the super fast super luxurious Cadillac CTS V. This 400 horsepower Cadillac was a dream vehicle. I'll be working on that story for publication soon.
