The Saturn Vue, a favorite of young mothers and families since 2002 has just expanded its appeal. The 2004 Saturn Redline addition now beckons the tuner crowd with a masculine appeal designed to attract the young male. It's easy to see why the Saturn Vue has been a popular choice for women. Compact size is easy to drive, handle and park. Excellent visibility and command seating position gives the driver a feeling of confidence and control. Easy to enter and exit with a skirt makes the 2004 Saturn Vue very female friendly. Dent resistant composite sides help make this the most "mall and supermarket friendly" vehicle around. Low-pressure sales and marketing approach for Saturn is unique and has earned top customer satisfaction experiences from both males and females. Finishing number one in the J. D. Power and Associates Sales Satisfaction Index for seven of the last eight years is comforting to all those who dread the car shopping experience. Available as a Front Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive, the Saturn Vue can be equipped with an economical 4-cylinder or performance oriented 6-cylinder engine. Transmission options on the 4-cylinder model include the 5-speed manual or Continuously Variable Transaxle, which uses a steel belt and adjustable pulleys to deliver just the right gear ratio. The CVT is available only on the 4-cylinder model. The V-6 is available only with the 5speed automatic transmission. At $17,495 the 4-cylinder, manual transmission 2004 Saturn Vue is a great value. The All Wheel Drive Red Line version that I had the privilege of driving recently can reach close to $30,000. However touch and feel quality of interior components such as the center console and sun visors are noticeably "cheap" and unbecoming such a functional vehicle. New for this year, the 2004 Saturn Vue sports a new 3.5 Liter V-6 direct from Honda producing an awesome 250 horsepower. One of the fastest Compact Sport Utility Vehicles on the market even the All Wheel Drive rabbits from 0 to 60 mph in less than seven seconds. This is clearly an attempt to attract both males and females who feel the need for speed. The 2004 Saturn Vue Red Line takes an already potent package and adds the features that performance oriented "tuners" seek. For $1,995 the Red Line package adds a sport-tuned suspension, which lowers the stance of the vehicle about an inch. Combined with a new front and rear fascia, ground effects and 18-inch wheels the Red Line Vue takes on the latest "slammed" appearance. Black air intakes in the front and chrome exhaust tips at the rear set off the monochromatic paint treatment available in Black, Silver or Electric Lime. The 2004 Saturn Vue Red Line is not just another pretty face. Electric power steering tuned for a sportier feel along with the upgraded suspension and tires is a distinctive difference. Combined with the power upgrade this driving machine is guaranteed to attract more than the traditional Saturn driver. The young male dominated tuner crowd will find plenty to like in this new Vue. However an even older buyer may find this an attractive vehicle for with the new V-6 engine and automatic transmission, the 2004 Saturn Vue is flat/dinghy towable behind a motor home. Unlike the 2003 and many direct competitors this could be the perfect "Toad" for an RV owner. While the previous model might have been a favorite for women, this 2004 Saturn All Wheel Drive 6-cylinder Vue Red Line can become a favorite for everyone.
